The Struthers fire department is responsible for not only fires, but assisting with EMS, hazardous conditions, service calls, natural disaster aid, and other emergencies.
The main Struthers Fire Department is located on 96 Elm St. Struthers OH.
There is also a second fire station located on 10 Frank St. Struthers OH.
It is comprised of a total of 23 fire-fighters and 9 engineers, led by Fire Chief Gary M. Mudryk.
They are funded through the city's general funding.

Another emergency resource used in Struthers is the Hazardous Materials Response Team (HazMat)
The HazMat team is lead by Captain Ted Everett and is comprised entirely of volunteers. The team members are all firefighters from fire departments around the county. The team is on call 24/7, every day of the year and respond to a variety of calls. Their location is based out of the EMA building.
Team members are FEMA/NIMS certified and are trained to handle the following:

- A resource that provides crisis counseling for victims of sexual assault anf other violent crimes.
- They offer short term counseling, group support, and a crisis hotline that operates 24 hours a day.
- Also offer education, criminal justice support, and advocacy
- Provides temporary housing for abused victims and their children, a crisis line, advocacy and case management, education, awareness, and recreational activities, and public speaking/in-service training for other organizations
- Community based shelter and crisis counseling services to runaway or otherwise homeless youth
- Provides medical case management from social workers who will help patients benefit from otherwise unknown services
- Serves as court appointed legal guardians
